Hi @Justarandomguy1,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I know how frustrating it can be when your HP Pavilion x360 Convertible won’t boot up. Let’s go through a structured set of steps to help identify and possibly fix the issue.

1. Check for Signs of Power

  • Do any lights turn on (keyboard, power button, charging LED)?
  • Do you hear fan noise or the drive spinning?

If no signs of power, try:

  • Holding the power button for 15 seconds to force a reset
  • Plugging into a different wall outlet
  • Using a different charger (if available)

2. Perform a Hard Reset

  1. Turn off the laptop.
  2. Disconnect all external devices (USB, HDMI, etc.).
  3. Unplug the power adapter.
  4. Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds.
  5. Reconnect the power and try turning it on.

3. Try BIOS Recovery

If the screen stays black:

  1. Turn off the laptop.
  2. Press and hold Windows + B, then press and hold the power button for 2–3 seconds.
  3. Release all keys.
  4. Wait for the BIOS recovery screen.

If successful, the system will attempt to recover the BIOS.

4. External Display Test

If you suspect the screen is dead:

  • Connect the laptop to an external monitor or TV via HDMI
  • Power on and press F4 or Windows + P to toggle display modes

I hope this helps.

Take care, and have an amazing day!
