Hi @Wole__ ,

If your HP EliteBook G3 is experiencing issues with powering on, and you notice that the power light stays on while the charging light blinks four times, here are the steps you can try to troubleshoot the issue:

  1. Check the Power Supply:

    • Ensure that the AC adapter is properly connected to the laptop and the power source.
    • Check the power cable for any visible damage. If possible, try using a different compatible charger.
  2. Perform a Hard Reset:

    • Disconnect the power adapter from the laptop.
    • Remove the battery if it is removable (not all models feature a removable battery).
    • Press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds to discharge any residual power.
    • Reconnect the battery and the power adapter, and then try powering on the device.
  3. Battery Troubleshooting:

    • If your model has a removable battery, try starting the laptop with only the AC adapter connected (without the battery).
    • If it powers on, there might be an issue with the battery.
  4. Check for Fault Codes:

    • The blinking light pattern can indicate a specific hardware error. Refer to the HP support documentation for your specific model to decode these error lights.
  5. Test with External Monitor (Optional):

    • Connect your EliteBook to an external monitor to check if the issue might be related to the display instead of a power issue.
