So apparently this just happened out of nowhere. I was watching YouTube when the whole laptop froze. It's a HP Spectre x360 13 from 2020'ish year. After it froze I just for Ely shut it down by holding the power button and now it won't startup, like it would show blink the lights on the caps lock 5 times slowly and then 3 times rapidly. I tried the Windows + B method where it writes a new bios image but that didn't work aswell. Welp..

Hi @esday,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

This condition indicates that the Embedded Controller (EC) was unable to communicate with the BIOS within the predefined time limit. This can occur during the system's Power-On Self-Test (POST) and typically points to a deeper issue with the system board or BIOS firmware.

Perform a Hard Reset

  • Disconnect AC power and remove the battery (if removable).
  • Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds.
  • Reconnect the power and try starting the system again.

Perform BIOS Restore:
1) Shut down the computer, keep the charger plugged in

2) Hold down the Windows and B buttons together while the computer is still turned off.

3) Turn on the computer and continue to hold the Windows and B buttons until a BIOS Recovery screen appears.

4) Follow the on-screen instructions and click on OK.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
