@Ismaelbaig, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I'm sorry to hear that your laptop is not starting after it overheated. I’ll guide you through a few steps to help diagnose and potentially resolve the issue.
Check the LED Blink Pattern
The blinking Caps Lock light is a diagnostic indicator. Count the number of blinks between pauses this can help identify the specific hardware issue.
Refer to this HP support article for blink code meanings: HP Notebook PCs - Computer beeps or a light blinks during startup | HP® Support
Perform a Hard Reset
This can help clear any residual electrical charge that might be preventing startup:
- Turn off the laptop.
- Disconnect the power adapter.
- If the battery is removable, take it out.
- Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds.
- Reconnect the battery and power adapter, then try turning it on.
Check for Overheating Damage
If the laptop overheated while not in use, it could indicate a hardware fault (e.g., motherboard or thermal sensor failure). Ensure the vents are clear of dust and the fan is functioning.
Try an External Display
To rule out a display issue:
- Connect your laptop to an external monitor or TV using HDMI or VGA.
- Power on the laptop and check if anything displays externally.
BIOS Recovery
If the system is not booting but the power light is on, try a BIOS recovery:
- Turn off the laptop.
- Press and hold Windows + B, then press and hold the Power button for 2-3 seconds.
- Release the Power button but continue holding Windows + B until you hear beeps or see the screen light up.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
