Hi @Gojo7,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like your HP 15 Notebook PC is experiencing a hardware issue preventing it from powering on. Here are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot and possibly resolve the issue.

Power Reset

  • Disconnect the power adapter and any external devices (USB drives, etc.).
  • Remove the battery (if your model has a removable one).
  • Press and hold the power button for 15-20 seconds to drain residual power.
  • Reconnect the battery and power adapter, then try turning the laptop on.

Check for Display Issues

  • If the laptop powers on but the screen remains black, try connecting it to an external monitor or TV using an HDMI or VGA cable to check if the display is the issue.

Inspect Power Adapter and Battery

  • Make sure the power adapter is working by trying a different outlet or using another compatible adapter.
  • If your laptop's battery is removable, try turning the laptop on without the battery and just the adapter. If it works, the battery may need replacement.

BIOS Reset

  • Turn off the laptop and then press and hold the Windows key + B, and while holding them, press the Power button for 2-3 seconds.
  • Release the Power button, but keep holding the Windows + B keys until the BIOS recovery screen appears. This may reset any BIOS-related issues.

Check for Overheating or Dust

  • If the laptop is overheating or has dust buildup inside, this could prevent it from powering on. You can clean the vents with compressed air.

Hardware Check

  • Remove and reseat the RAM sticks if you're comfortable with laptop hardware. A loose or malfunctioning RAM stick can cause the laptop to fail to boot.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
