Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi all,

Bit of a strange one here. I've had this notebook for the best part of 7 years now, and it's served me well, but yesterday everything all seemed to go a bit wrong:

• I realised that my battery was low, with the m "Plugged in, discharging"

• I reset my laptop, hoping this would fix the issue

• The battery continued to drain, eventually reaching 0%, before the computer suddenly seemed to lose power, however continued to operate its fans and one light only on the keyboard (nothing on either side to indicate any further activity)

• Eventually this stopped, too.

So, now the situation is - I've removed all power sources and done the usual holding down the power button for 30/60 seconds - and now the laptop won't turn on under purely the power supply or with the battery in, even after 10 hours of attempting to charge the latter. Frustratingly, the only LED that is lit up is the charging indicator - orange when I have the battery inserted, and white when I do not. So I don't think the issue is power supply.

I'm worried this might be terminal, but want to try anything I can before giving up for good. Any suggestions more than welcome! Thanks in advance.

Hey there! @gt302,

Have you tried checking with a different battery or adapter?

Do you see any blinking lights on the caps lock or num lock key on the PC?

It certainly sounds like a hardware issue with the laptop. However, please try the steps recommended below and check if it helps.

Check if the pin inside the DC (Charging) port is bent or broken.

Try plugging the adapter into a different wall outlet and check if it helps.

Also, Try checking with an alternate adapter.

Refer this article to know more information about no power issues with the laptop. Click Here

If the issue still persists after trying out the steps. It is certainly a hardware issue with the laptop.
