My laptop will not turn on. When I put it on to charge the light next to the charging port shows a long red flash and then a shorter white flash. I have tried a hard reset but still won’t turn on.

Hi @Tagoz29,

Thank you for the response.

Try these steps:

1. Check the Power Supply and Battery

  • Ensure the power adapter is functioning properly: Try using a different power adapter or charging your laptop with another compatible charger.
  • Inspect the power cable: Look for any signs of damage or loose connections.

2. Hard Reset the Laptop

  1. Turn off your laptop.
  2. Disconnect all peripheral devices.
  3. Unplug the AC adapter.
  4. Remove the battery if it is removable.
  5. Press and hold the power button for 15-20 seconds to drain residual power.
  6. Reconnect the AC adapter (leave the battery out if it is removable).
  7. Press the power button to turn on the laptop.

3. Examine the LED Indicators and Decode the Light Sequence

Let me know what pattern you see with the long red and short white flash.

4. Reseat Internal Components

  • Memory Modules (RAM): If comfortable, try reseating the RAM sticks by removing them and placing them back securely.
  • Hard Drive and SSD: Ensure that the storage components are firmly connected.

I hope this helps.
