Victus by HP 15.6 inch Gaming Laptop 15-fb0000 (598V1AV)

Hi, today when I turn on my Victus, the power button turns on for 1-3 seconds and then turns off. When the power button glows for 1-3 seconds, the screen's brightness turns on and then dims.

Hi @RUTESHCHANDRA

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

It sounds like your Victus by HP 15-fb0000 is experiencing a power issue, possibly related to the battery, motherboard, or BIOS settings. Since the power button lights up briefly and the screen dims, let's go through some troubleshooting steps.

1. Perform a Hard Reset

  • Disconnect the power adapter and remove the battery (if removable).
  • Hold the power button for 30 seconds.
  • Reconnect the battery and power adapter, then try turning on the laptop.

2. Check for Overheating or Loose Connections

  • If your laptop was running hot before shutting down, let it cool for 10 minutes.
  • Open the bottom panel (if comfortable) and check for loose RAM or SSD connections.

3. Update BIOS (if possible)

  • If the laptop powers on briefly, try accessing BIOS by pressing F10 repeatedly.
  • If you can enter BIOS, update it using the latest version from HP’s support page.

4. Test with a Different Charger

  • If possible, try using a different HP-compatible charger.
  • A faulty charger or power brick could be preventing proper startup.

5. Run HP Hardware Diagnostics

  • Restart your laptop and press Esc repeatedly.
  • Select F2 for System Diagnostics.
  • Run a battery and motherboard test.

Let me know how it goes, and I’ll be happy to assist further!
