Hi @Laxmiprasad,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I hear that your HP Laptop is not turning on.

A blinking Caps Lock usually means the laptop's built-in system detected a hardware or power fault. This often happens after sitting idle for days due to residual static or a temporarily drained battery.

Here are the most effective ways to fix it:

  • Perform a Hard Reset: Unplug the power adapter and all USB devices. Press and hold the Power button for 15–30 seconds to drain any residual charge.

Plug the charger back in and try turning it on.

  • Count the Blinks: Watch the blinking Caps Lock. The number of blinks in a repeating pattern indicates the specific part causing the failure (e.g., 3 blinks usually mean a RAM issue, while 5 blinks indicate a motherboard or power fault).

  • Check Your Power Supply: Ensure the charger is securely plugged into both the laptop and a working wall outlet. If possible, test it with a compatible charger to rule out an adapter failure.

I hope this will help.

Take care and have a good day.

I'm an HP Employee.
