Hi @biswa03-_,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Pavilion laptop powers on but the screen remains black and you don't see any display, there could be several reasons for this issue. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can follow to try to resolve the problem.

Check for External Connections:

  • Ensure that the laptop is properly connected to a power source and that the battery is not completely drained.
  • If you're using an external monitor or projector, make sure it's connected correctly and powered on.

External Monitor:

  • If you have an external monitor available, connect your laptop to it using the appropriate cable (HDMI, VGA, etc.) and see if the display appears on the external monitor. If it does, the issue may be with your laptop's built-in screen.

Brightness Settings:

  • Sometimes, the screen brightness may be set to the lowest level. Try increasing the brightness by using the function keys on your keyboard (usually Fn + F2 or F3) to see if the screen comes back to life.

Hard Reset:

  • Turn off the laptop.
  • Disconnect all external devices and peripherals.
  • Remove the laptop's battery (if it's removable).
  • Hold down the power button for about 15 seconds.
  • Reconnect the battery (if removable) and external devices.
  • Power on the laptop to see if the screen works.

BIOS Reset:

  • If the hard reset doesn't work, you can try resetting the BIOS settings. To do this, refer to your laptop's user manual for specific instructions on how to reset the BIOS or CMOS settings. This usually involves removing a CMOS battery or using a reset jumper on the motherboard.

Faulty RAM or Hardware Issue:

  • A faulty RAM module or other hardware components could be causing the issue. Try reseating or replacing the RAM modules one at a time to see if that resolves the problem.

Graphics Driver Issue:

  • It's possible that a corrupted or outdated graphics driver is causing the problem. If you can access Safe Mode, try uninstalling and reinstalling the graphics driver. If you can't access Safe Mode, you might need to boot your laptop using a bootable USB drive and perform driver-related troubleshooting from there.

Faulty Display:

  • If none of the above steps work, it's possible that there's a hardware issue with the laptop's display, such as a faulty screen or graphics card.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
