My laptop wont power up unless plugged in.

when my laptop is plugged in it works fine and with it up i can unplug the battery and it still works fine.

if it is unplugged for a short time it will not power on without being plugged back in. i get cmos error 502.

i have replaced battery. running all the hp testes the battery passes and is charging fine. i have also reset bios but still same issue?

Sorry I can unplug the power after powering up, not unplug battery
