My HP laptop has been very slow lately and sometimes freezes. I’m not sure what is causing it and would like help fixing it.  It takes a long time to start up and open apps. Sometimes it freezes for a few seconds and then starts working again. I have not installed anything new recently, so I’m not sure what is causing the issue. I mainly use my laptop for school work and browsing the internet.

Does anyone know what could be causing this and how I can fix it?

To fix your freezes.

Do this:

- Press Win + R, type services.msc, Enter.
- Find HP One Agent Service, right-click > Properties.
- Set Startup type to Disabled; click Stop if running > apply andOK.
- Close window, restart laptop.
- Test it.

Now optimize your windows for better privacy, smoothness and low load:

Many good windows optimization guide available on internet you can follow any. I suggest you to use chris titus utility tool to optimize it.  You can watch this video, follow it and optimize your laptop. Go safe.
