When I turn My hp laptop on it goes to bios setup utility and gets stuck there with continuous beep sound. After sometime I'm able to use my keyboard and then when I press save and exit in bios menu, it again reloads to bios and same issue continues

Hi @Harip370

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The issue you are describing—your HP laptop being stuck in the BIOS Setup Utility with continuous beeping—indicates a hardware or configuration problem. Here’s how to troubleshoot and resolve it.

Check Beep Code Pattern

  • The continuous beeping might be a diagnostic code.
  • Count the number of beeps (if it follows a pattern like 3 beeps, pause, 2 beeps).
  • Look up the beep code for your HP laptop model on the HP Support website.

Perform a Hard Reset

  • Turn off the laptop and unplug it from the power source.
  • Remove the battery if it's removable.
  • Press and hold the Power button for 15 seconds to discharge any residual power.
  • Reconnect the battery and power supply, then turn it on.

Reset BIOS to Default Settings

  • If you can access the BIOS, look for an option like Load Setup Defaults or Restore Default Settings.
  • Save changes and exit.

Check Boot Order

  • Ensure the boot order in the BIOS is correctly set. The internal hard drive (or SSD) should be the first boot device.
  • If it isn’t listed, the hard drive might not be detected, indicating a potential hardware issue.

Inspect Keyboard

  • Continuous beeping may be caused by a stuck or malfunctioning key. Check if any key is physically stuck or unresponsive.
  • If possible, disconnect the internal keyboard and use an external USB keyboard to see if the issue persists.

Perform Diagnostics

  • Press F2 or Esc (depending on your model) during startup to access HP Diagnostics.
  • Run a hardware test, especially on the memory and hard drive.

Update or Reflash BIOS

  • If the BIOS is corrupted, updating or reflashing the BIOS might resolve the issue.
  • Visit the HP Support website to download the latest BIOS version for your laptop model.
  • Use a USB drive to create a recovery media and perform a BIOS update.

Inspect Hardware

  • Open the laptop (if comfortable) to:
    • Check RAM: Reseat or replace the RAM.
    • Check Hard Drive: Ensure it is securely connected.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
