Hi,

This usually indicates a problem with the hard drive. So, first you should try to perform HP hardware diagnostics at boot on the drive and see if there are any failure ids.

Turn off the PC by holding the power button. Turn on PC and continously keep pressing ESC until startup menu appears and then press F2 to enter diagnostics. Try the fast test, or at least the hard drive test.

See if there are any hardware errors.

Let me know,

David

Do you have Windows 7 disk or recovery disks?

Do you have a recovery partition on the Machine?

Do you have important data on the notebook?

Let me know,
