Envy 15-k203tx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

It has been about one week since I faced this problem for the first time.

The laptop shuts down without warning and when I boot it up, it shows >50% battery.

It charges to a maximum of 89%.

I have a feeling this might be an overheating issue but I have no clue what to do about it.

Kindly help asap thanks.

Yes, Status: Replace message indicates the battery has either reached the end of its useful life or has encountered a failure and should be replaced.

Hi,

Please test your battery from HP support assistant software

Post back with details such as cycle count, cell voltages etc

Is there unusually warm air coming through the vents?

The HP support assisstant says the battery is OK.

How do i check the cycle count and cell voltage?

I'm not very sure but I think warm air always used to come out of the vents after a few hours of usage so I wouldn't call that unusual.

Thank you for your reply.

You can get the details I sought after doing the battery tests, from HP support assistant itself

You could try dusting the vents with air duster

Okay so I ran the test three times and now it said REPLACE two out of the three times.

So here is the report from the third test.

Should I go to a service center or are there any other steps that can be followed?

Thank you.
