Product: compaq presario v3000
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

The laptop is stuck with a black screen with a blinking underscore when i am trying to start the laptop, the laptop got stuck after the compaq logo showed up.

Hi,

Try performing Hardware diagnostics at boot and see if there are any hardware problems. The Hard Drive could be failing.

 

Turn off the PC by holding the power button until complete shutdown.

Turn on the PC and repeatedly press ESC until startup menu appears.

Press F2 to enter diagnostics.

Try performing the system test and see if there are any failure ids.

So you can enter BIOS?

Does the startup menu appear?

Does the screen freeze in BIOS?
