Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Whenever I power on my laptop, the screen takes like 20 miuntes or more to turn on and show the windows Logo and starts booting, after that, the laptop runs normally.

I'm not sure if this is related, but the laptop has two graphics cards, Intel and AMD. The Amd Radeon graphics card was disabled sometime ago and the laptop is only running on the Intel card. As far as I remember, the amd had some problems with the resolution so we had to turn it off.

Any idea what is causing this?

That long a delay implies that the hard drive controller is encountering failing sectors. Instead of reading hundres of sectors a second, when the controller encounters a failing sector, it rereads the same sector, over and over hundreds of times, until it times out.

With it probably spending only 15 minutes doing this, the good news is that you probably have only a few bad sectors, so the drive is still usable.

You should run CHKDSK on your drive to check it out.

To do that, in the Start menu, right-click on Computer and select Open.

Then, right-click on the C drive and select properties.

Then, Tools, and then Error checking.

It will ask you to reboot to do the check (as it can't do that while Windows is running).

When it reboots, it will run the CHKDSK utility. See if it reports finding any bad sectors.

If it does, it should mark them as bad, and after that, your PC should boot much faster. But if the PC continues to boot very slowly, that implies you have a failing drive that needs to be replaced.

Good Luck

This was great, I ran the test twice and the startup time was lowered. I tried turning the laptop on for like 5 times, It turned on immedietly once and the other few times, it ranged between 2 minutes and 5 minutes. Is there anything else I can do to make it turn on immedietly all the time?

Here are the results of the two disk checks I ran:
