Victus by HP 15.6 inch Gaming Laptop 15-fa0000 (599K0AV)

The laptop wakes up from suspend to a black screen, shows the UI for a little while (a few seconds) and goes back to the black screen. This happens repeatedly until I force shutdown the laptop and power it back on.

Looking at journalctl reveals this (this loops until i force shutdown)

Going further back in logs, I find:

Mar 12 21:20:52 fedora kernel: ACPI Error: Aborting method \_SB.PC00.LPCB.EC0._Q33 due to previous error (AE_NOT_EXIST) (20220331/psparse-529)

which suggests this is an ACPI issue.

My laptop configuration is:

Operating System: Fedora Linux 37
KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.2
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.103.0
Qt Version: 5.15.8
Kernel Version: 6.1.14-200.fc37.x86_64 (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: X11
Processors: 16 × 12th Gen Intel® Core™ i5-12500H
Memory: 15.3 GiB of RAM
Graphics Processor: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Laptop GPU/PCIe/SSE2
Manufacturer: HP
Product Name: Victus by HP Gaming Laptop 15-fa0xxx

As mentioned in the Arch Wiki:

Users with Alder Lake-P 12th gen mobile processor laptops from various vendors experienced freeze and black-screen after waking up from suspending. It is because many laptop vendors ship an incorrect VBT (Video BIOS Table) that wrongly describe the actual ports connected to the iGPU

I'm guessing I'm running into a similar issue where HP BIOS is incorrect. I'm posting here in hopes of getting a fix. I couldn't find a way to reach out to HP support asking for a BIOS fix
