Product: HP ENVY x360 - 15-dr0023tx

Laptop would not close down using the usual method. So, I did Alt Ctrl Delete and chose the option Sign Out.  Now all I have is a spinning circle of white dots and the words ‘Signing Out’  on a plain black screen. 
Laptop is not responding to anything I do.

I get this on a Win11 desktop -- that just sits there.  So, I power it down and the next time I start it, it works OK.

 

If you can restart it, go into Control Panel (not Settings) and see what is set for the power options -- it might be set to sleep or hibernate.
