HP ENVY 15 NOTEBOOK
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

i bought this laptop 6 months back and it was all working perfectly with Windows 8.1 until I upgraded it to Windows 10. When i shut it down everything turns off except for the power light and it keeps on forever. In order to turn the light off i have to press and hold power button for around 6-7 seconds and then it turns off. i tried updating the bios with windows bios because Windows 10 BIOS is not available for my pc. Please help, i will be grateful.

Hi

Ensure Fast Start-Up is disabled.

Try a Shutdown.

Winkey + R   type cmd.exe pause

then

shutdown /s /t 0

If in doubt please ask.

Thank you for your response but it did not work.

Hi

So try SysInternals and look for what loads at startup, because it seems you have an app that will not terminate.

It could be Malware.  https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/sysinternals-suite

Tried this as well but it did not work. I tried reinstalling the windows twice but the problem still remains.

Things that survive a re-install are things like MALWARE, rootkits. trojans etc.

What is the solution then?
