I have no idea what happened, I just went to go on my computer to do some class work for college and the screen is blank, I see the led for the laptop being on but no power to the screen it’s just blank, I took out the battery, took out ram putting them back in one at a time and just nothing has worked, I hold the power button to power it on and it won’t go on it just goes on for a sec and shuts off but it will stay on if I just press it, not sure if it’s always like that and I’ve never noticed but any help would be greatly apprecieted.

Hi @Car-los,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like your HP 14s laptop is experiencing some technical issues with its display and power. Here are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot the problem.
- External Display: Connect your laptop to an external monitor or TV using an HDMI cable. If the external display shows the screen properly, then the issue might be with your laptop's internal display or its connection.
- Check Brightness Settings: Sometimes, the screen brightness can be turned down to the lowest setting, making it appear as if the screen is blank. Try increasing the brightness by pressing the appropriate function key on your keyboard.
- Hardware Reset: Disconnect all peripherals, including the power adapter, external mouse, and any other devices connected to your laptop. Then, press and hold the power button for about 15-20 seconds to drain any residual power. After that, reconnect the power adapter and try turning on your laptop again.
- BIOS Reset: Sometimes, resetting the BIOS settings can resolve display-related issues. To reset the BIOS, locate the CMOS battery on your laptop's motherboard (usually a small circular battery) and remove it for a few minutes. Then, reinsert the battery and try powering on your laptop again.
- Hardware Issue: If none of the above steps work, it's possible that there's a hardware problem with your laptop's display, motherboard, or other components.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
