I recently replaced my dead battery with a new hp battery. I turned the computer on after installing and it worked great. I tried to charge the computer but the charger had gone bad hence the battery replacement. Got a new compatible charger but the laptop refuses to charge. New charger is good as it charges my cell phone. Did the hard power drain process of disconnecting everything and holding the power button but to avail. Laptop will not come on with the charger plugged in. Could the CMOS battery be the cause or what? Motherboard appears to be good since to worked after installing the new battery. Any ideas would be appreciated.

I understand that your HP notebook is not working correctly. If you have already performed the steps from the document HP Notebook PCs - Computer Does Not Start: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c01997899 and the issue persists, it could be a hardware failure.
