Hello. My computer was working fine, but when I took it somewhere, it no longer was charging. I brought it back home and still it wasn't charging. Eventually, it lost power and won't turn back on.
When the charger is plugged in, there is no white light that signifies it is charging.
The removable battery still has four white lights on.
There was a brief error message saying something about a battery 601 when it still had charge.
The computer won't turn on with or without the battery when plugged in.
If I press the power button with the battery in, the charging LED blinks 3 times orange. Without the battery in, it does nothing.
Is this an internal battery issue? Is the charger dead? Is there something wrong with the charger adapter? How can I differentiate a charger problem vs a problem with connector to the motherboard?

Welcome to the HP Support Community!
I recommend you check with an alternate adapter if available or the only other to check the charger is by checking the voltage using a multimeter.
Check the adapter first as it looks like an issue with the adapter as you have mentioned that the computer is not powering on with the charger when you remove the battery.
Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!
