Got this laptop refurbished a year and a half ago. It’s always had a hard time turning back on after it’s died or been shut down. Today I was completely unable to turn it on even though I left it charging overnight. The little led charging light on the side stays a blue light Without flashing, but when I hold the power button in to turn it on, the light goes out and doesn’t come back on until 5 seconds after I’ve taken my finger off the button. Completely black screen and no other signs of life. One of the times I tried it last night I heard the fan going and the caps lock button flashed but it did nothing else. That’s the only time that happened. I took the back cover off, removed the battery, held the power button for 30 seconds, then put it back in, because that’s what one of the forums told me to do, but it did nothing. I was thinking maybe the battery or charger is the source of the problem but I’m not sure. I don’t want to end up replacing both and it does the same thing. Does anyone have suggestions please?

Have you tried resitting your RAM?  Also try this. Unplug the AC adapter, remove the battery and wait for 1-2 minutes. After that plug the AC adapter and try starting the laptop again. Sometimes this trick helps.

It can also be some serious hardware issues.

You can just try these basic things:

1. Reset your BIOS
2. Remove the GPU and plug the display into the motherboard video output.

Tell if it displays anything. Try entering the BIOS by pressing F2/Delete or whatever key specified when it starts.

Otherwise check out these methods mention in the post and see if any of them will be working.
