I have an HP Envy x360 purchased about 2 months ago. After installing a Windows/ software update 3-4 days ago, the laptop stopped working properly:

 

When plugged in, the fan spins but the screen stays black, and the laptop does not boot.

 

When unplugged, the laptop shuts down immediately.

 

Charging light stays on when plugged in.

 

Caps Lock light flashes briefly when attempting to power on.

 

Before the update, the laptop worked perfectly on battery and AC power.

 

It seems like a firmware/BIOS or power initialization issue caused by the update.
