Which password?
The HP laptop's motherboard might have a "power-on" password.
If so, enter something, three times.
If it displays an error-code, post the code here.
Windows probably has a password.
Do you login to a "local" account, i.e., the ID is just your first name, or something like that?
If so, then Google-search for "Nordahl offline password", for bootable software that can delete/change the password.
Do you login to a Microsoft account, i.e., "something@hotmail.com" or "somebody@live.com" or "someperson@outlook.com", while having a live Internet connection?
If so, use the password for that ID.
Or, access 'http://login.live.com', and change the password for that ID.
