Elitebook 840 G6
just I set a bios password. (before I checked all other bios settings, e.g. language setting=english)
After reboot the window for input password appears.
But the passwort does not work!
I tried often:
- with internal keyboard, with external keyboard
next work-around to reset password:
- I started windows (windows 11 23H2)
- from HP.com I downloaded the lates Firmware (BIOS); SP152761
- I performed the BIOS update
==> during BIOS update I was asked to enter BIOS password.
==> I entered the password
==> BIOS update was performed with success.
BUT after rebbot the passwort is not reset!
HOW I can reset the BIOS password?
(many thanks for help)
today I contacted HP support, but withoud success!
- various measures to reset the password have failed.
- at the end: ==> answer: buy a new motherboard)
