I have an HP envy. The touchscreen one. I don’t have access to any other information. I am locked out of my laptop. I had a four digit numerical password. I plugged my phone in and the cord was resting on the “enter” key. Once I realized I took it off. However, the laptop is now asking for my Microsoft password. I do not have access to the email for the Microsoft account so therefore I cannot reset that password and I do not know it. Why can’t I enter my numerical password? Is there no other way to get into the computer? I would reset but I have several important tests and papers from college that I will use again in the future. As well as Personal pictures and videos as well as professional ones. Can anyone help?

We can offer very limited advice.
You could try the Forced Reset - this is a power reset for forces the computer to read the boot (startup) information from the Operating System stored on the disk and not the "stuff in memory". It may not work - but the procedure does not harm a healthy system and only takes a few minutes to complete.
You might have to contact Microsoft Support and plead your case.
Or, if you can get the notebook to a licensed Microsoft technician, he / she can likely get into the computer.

Fingerprint Sensor / Forced Reset
If the fingerprint sensor suddenly stops working on your computer
OR
If the computer is not issuing errors but still won’t let you log in,
Consider trying a Forced Reset (power reset).
Reminders
A Forced Reset is NOT a “recovery” and does not remove your data – this reset merely forces the computer to load the Operating System from disk.
Forced Reset does not harm a healthy system nor does it “fix” problems not related to a clean start.
