Hi, @ajaymeda

Here is the link to the last BIOS update file HP released for your notebook.

F.38

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp46501-47000/sp46501.exe

Since the file is an exe file, you will need to have a way to get the actual BIOS files out of it if the PC is not working.

You can see this discussion, next to the last reply, which may be of help...

You're very welcome @Prométhée

I am willing to play the odds that there is absolutely no such PC in the world as an HP dv15-1125nr notebook.

There can only be one model that exists...the dv5-1125nr, as you had indicated, and for that, I have provided the correct and final BIOS update.

I think there are dv4s too...
but actually the closest for the mention dv15, seemed to me to be this one
Strongly a really automated option, 100% effective, which would directly give the model of the computer in question in each message!!

Hello Paul,

Thank you for providing the file. I used 7z to extract the files from EXE and then copied the below files onto a FAT32 formatted pendrive.

30F2F38.FD

3622F38.FD

I plugged this drive into the laptop, pressed Win + B and powered it on. I heard two short beeps and then it continued to be in black screen with the CAPS/NUM lights blinking 2 times.

Any further advice?

Thanks.

You're very welcome.

The only suggestion I can offer would be to read that post I linked.

The person indicated that you should change the .FD file extension to .rom or .bin (.rom usually works best), is what he mentioned.

Hello Promethee and Paul,

I have tried all permutations and combinations of the .FD files from the .EXE that was provided (SP46501). For examples :

30F2F38.FD

30F2F38.ROM

30F2F38.BIN

30F2.FD

30F2.ROM

30F2.BIN

3622F38.FD

3622F38.ROM

3622F38.BIN

3622.FD

3622.ROM

3622.BIN

but nothing seems to work. With the Win+B keys pressed, then I turn on the laptop, I hear two short beeps and the black screen stays the same and CAPS/NUM lights continue to blink 2 times. Sometimes, the laptop turned itself off but there is no pattern.

An observation :
When I copied all the files as they are extracted from the EXE (without renaming anything and including the .ini file). I noticed there was a difference in the behaviour, the CAPS/NUM were blinking but just one time. I'm not sure if that means something. I left it like that for few minutes but nothing came up on the screen. Another time I tried the same and they blinked 2 times.

Will look forward to your comments, thanks.
