Product: HP 17-cn2083dx with 883c MB.
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 11

I have HP 17-cn2083dx laptop. The original motherboard was initially with defect. Geek Squad  has changed that to 17N-8L-TGL (883c with F. 24 BIOS). Afterward, the SSD is not recognized. One possible reason is the BIOS file is corrupted. I have to re-install it. But I cannot find F. 24 0883.bin file in  the HP database.  I have contacted GP, but they do not provide such a service, although the laptop is still on warranty. Does anyone have 0883c.bin or 0883c.rar? Or probably you van tell me where I can find that. Thank you for advice!

Try these steps:

Access the HP Support Website:

  • Go to HP Support and search for drivers and software according to your laptop's model number (HP 17-cn2083dx).

Download BIOS Software:

  • In the search results, check the BIOS section for the latest version available for your laptop model. The version numbers may differ, but HP typically provides only compatible files.
  • Download the BIOS file.

Install the BIOS Update:

  • Follow the on-screen instructions carefully to update your BIOS. Usually, this requires executing the downloaded file, which automatically updates the BIOS during system restarts.

Revert to Default BIOS Settings:

  • You can access the BIOS setup during startup (often by pressing F10 or ESC); set the BIOS settings back to default which may resolve recognition issues with the SSD.

HP PC Hardware Diagnostics (UEFI):

  • If available, use HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI to perform advanced diagnostics and possibly resolve SSD detection issues, which can be accessed during system startup.
