Hello, my HP Spectre x360 is having constant problems with starting up.

Various things have happened. Any of these might happen randomly. I apologize this might seem confusing, but these issues all happen constantly and I think they are all related to the same problem.

- I press the power button while the battery is in, and nothing  happens. Does not boot. There is no light in the charge indicator light.

-I press the power button while battery is removed, and the system boots to a screen that says CMOS checksum is invalid and prompts me to reboot the system by pressing Enter. I press Enter and the system boots normally.

-Or, I press power button while battery is removed, and nothing happens. No boot.

-Or, I press the power button while the power is connected and battery is in, and laptop is closed. Laptop boots  normally. There is still no light in the charge indicator.

-I press the power button while battery is in and charge indicator light is on (white). Nothing happens. I press the power button repeatedly for a minute or so, pressing every few seconds.  The system eventually boots.

-I leave my computer plugged in and walk away for a few hours. computer is now off and will not boot.

I have had some of these issues since getting this computer as a refurb. I initially had Square protection plan on it and they told me it was normal for my computer to take hours to boot up sometimes if it had had a hard shutdown or run out of battery. I didn't think that was actually normal, but I let it go.

The problems are now getting worse. Can anyone help me to get this problem fixed? Thanks!

Spectre construction is horrible. Sorry. 😞

Its seems to overheating or motherboard issue.
When your windows update is running, long updates is normal, but the inactive power led when adapter is plugged in, absolutely not!

When you send your pc to repair, please attach this message or a link for this notes. Your written informations is really important! Thanks.

Thank you Mrrlton. I will be sure to provide this information when I take it to be repaired.

I am concerned it may need the motherboard replaced but I am hoping not!

As for overheating, I have always thought this computer got surprisingly hot, and I have already gone through one battery. I discovered, while dealing with a separate issue, that my battery was swollen and ready to explode. It has since been replaced.

Again, appreciate your answer.
