OK, I have a HP Laptop 17-cn1009cy (552Y2UA) that is stuck in a boot loop with updating... restarting. The drive is also BitLocker enabled. I tried all the normal things for rolling back updates and startup repair. I also went to the command prompt and attempted to look at the disk via DiskPart, the drive did not show. So, none of this helped.
My next coarse of action was to replace the drive, I opened the system up and replaced the M.2 SSD w/ another 512GB and reinstalling Windows. The Windows 11 installer does not see the SSD. I am currently building a Windows 10 installer to see if that might work.

This is a bit of a stumper for me. Any advice? If I hear nothing, I'll assume you do not know either and will send it in for a depot repair and reimage.

I have zipped up and attached below, the Intel storage controller drivers you need for Windows to find the hard drive.
This needs to be done for all Intel PC's with the 11th gen or newer core processors until Microsoft gets off their hind quarters and incorporates these drivers into their installation files.
We have to install W10/W11 like we used to have to do with Windows 2000 and XP when AHCI came out.
Copy the 5 files from the F6/VMD/f6vmdflpy-x64 folder to a USB flash drive.
iastorvd.cat
iastorvd.inf
iastorvd.sys
rstmweventlogmsg.dll
rstmwservice.exe
Have the flash drive and your W11 installation media plugged into USB ports.
Boot from the W11 installation flash drive.
When you get to the screen where no drives can be found, click on the Load driver option, browse to the flash drive with the storage controller drivers on it.
If you check the box, it will only include the compatible driver.
Click Next and W11 should find the drive and install.
Another option would be to use the HP cloud recovery tool to create a bootable USB recovery drive that will reinstall Windows, the drivers and the software that originally came with the PC.
Here is an info link for how to use the utility. You will need a 32 GB USB flash drive to create the recovery media with.
HP Consumer PCs - Using the HP Cloud Recovery Tool in Windows 11 and 10 | HP® Customer Support
You can download the software from the Microsoft Store.
HP Cloud Recovery Tool - Microsoft Store Apps
Since you have to use the utility on another PC, you will need to enter the notebook's product number in the tool's search window in order to proceed to make the recovery media.
Your PC's product number is: 552Y2UA#ABA

Thanks! I was think to myself that this presented itself like the old 2000/XP installer issue when using a hardware RAID or SCSI interface.
OBTW - any gotcha's in this that you are aware of?
I will let you know if it works!

You're very welcome.
If you use the HP cloud recovery tool and it works as it is designed to, you don't need to do anything with the storage controller drivers. They are included in the HP recovery image.
If you prefer to clean install W11, then you will need the storage controller drivers and the only other drivers you should need can be found on the model series' support page.

You may want to just try the clean install, so you acquire experience with these newer platforms.
