My laptop Details:

  • Model Name: HP Notebook 15-da0091ne
  • Product Number: 5ES92EA

Could you please clarify the following technical points for this specific motherboard/chassis?

1. M.2 SSD Compatibility:

Does the motherboard on this specific model (5ES92EA) have a physical M.2 slot available?

If yes, does this M.2 slot support NVMe PCIe Gen 3.0 interfaces, or is it limited to M.2 SATA only?

2. Dual Storage Configuration:

Can I install the new M.2 SSD as my primary boot drive while keeping the original 1TB HDD installed for data storage?

3.What is the maximum total RAM capacity supported by the motherboard (e.g., 16GB or 32GB)?

4. Should I buy RAM DDR4 2400MHz to be fitted with the installed RAM)?

@Aorbany91,

Your service manual shows supported RAM and M.2 SSD specs on pages 1-3.

HP 15 Laptop PC Maintenance and Service Guide

#1. Your model's M.2 slot supports gen3x4 NVMe SSDs. You can install an NVMe SSD of a capacity you want, 512 GB, 1 TB, or 2 TB.

#2. Your model supports the dual storage (HDD + M.2 SSD). You can install Windows on an M.2 drive and keep the HDD as a data drive (you need to remove Windows from the HDD).

#3. Your model that has an Intel Core i5-8250U processor supports max 16 GB (2x8 GB) DDR4-2400 memory.

#4. You can install DDR4-2400, DDR4-2666 or DDR4-3200 memory, but the system will run at 2400.
