MY ELITEBOOK 8460P DOES NOT START AND IS BLINKING WHITE AND ORANGE IN CHARGE LIGHT.

I TAKE MY CD-ROM DRIVE ON AN SSD AND AFTER I CHANGED THE NOTEBOOK IT CALLED NO MORE AND IT IS NOW FLASHING WHITE AND ORANGE. I WILL TAKE THE BATTERY AND TRY DIRECTLY ON THE CHARGER AND IT DOES NOT WORK. I NEED A LOT OF HELP. THANK YOU.

First off, from what I could find, this model notebook came out in 2010 --making this 8 years old -- so I am amzed that it even still works!

Second, what has worked in some cases is the following:

1) With the batter still in the notebook, unplug the charger

2) Hold down the Power button for at least 15 seconds

3) Plug back in the charger and power on the laptop
