Product: HP elitebook 840 G2
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Greetings, I am facing the following error on my elitebook. : Media failure check cable.I am then redirected to the HP pc hardware diagnostics UEFI. I can run the memory test and hardware check , both succeed.I changed the boot order options in bios and now the disk isn't found and I have the media error check cable error.I cannot go into the bios or reset it using the windows B + power. I changed the boot order to use a live install of linux from my usb stick. I tried the bios reset from a key aswell, without success.I am completely lost as to how I can fix this. Any help will be appreciated,

I fixed it by removing and decharging the bios battery, I think thisis what you mean by power reset.

Closing the thread now, thanks for your andwer anyways 🙂

Have you tried a power reset to see if it would reset BIOS to default settings?
