Hi:

Your notebook has two memory slots and can support up to 2 x 8 GB of DDR4 memory.

See chapter 1 of the service manual for the memory upgrade info.

HP 15 Laptop PC Maintenance and Service Guide

This should be a compatible 8 GB memory chip for your notebook:

Crucial रैम 8 जीबी डीडीआर 4 3200 मेगाहर्ट्ज सीएल 22 (या 2 9 33 मेगाहर्ट्ज या 2666 मेगाहर्ट्ज) लैपटॉप...

You're very welcome.

It may be possible to upgrade the memory to 2 x 16 GB.

32 GB in one slot will not work.

The Crucial memory report for your notebook indicates that you can.

HP - Compaq HP 15-da0296tu | Memory RAM & SSD Upgrades | Crucial.com

You will find that DDR4-2400 memory is very expensive in India, so that is why I had recommended the 3200 MHz memory, which automatically will bridge to 2133 MHz because that is as fast as your notebook can run the memory at.

This should be a compatible 16 GB DDR4-3200 memory chip:

Crucial RAM 16GB DDR4 3200 MHz CL22 Laptop Memory CT16G4SFRA32A : Amazon.in: Computers & Accessories

As you can see, the 16 GB DDR4-2400 memory chip costs considerably more.

Crucial CT16G4SFD824A 16GB 2400MHz 260-Pin SODIMM Laptop Memory (CT16G4SFD824A) : Amazon.in: Compute...

Before you decide to purchase 2 x 16 GB of memory, I recommend you run this command to see if that will be possible:

1. In the search box, search for cmd and click Run as administrator.

This will open the command prompt.

2. Once command prompt is opened, type wmic memphysical get maxcapacityEx and hit enter.

There, it will show the maximum RAM capacity your PC's motherboard can support.

The capacity is shown as Kilobytes, so you have to convert it to Gigabytes by dividing the number provided in the report by 1,048,576.

If the report indicates the max memory is 33,xxx,xxx, then you should be able to install 2 x 16 GB of memory.

Have you upgraded to a SSD in your notebook?

If not, that is something you may want to consider.

You have two options for your notebook:

1. Replace the 2.5" mechanical hard drive with a 2.5" SATA SSD.

2. Since your notebook has a M.2 SSD slot, you may want to install an even faster performing M.2 NVMe SSD since chapter 1 of the service manual indicates NVMe SSD's are supported in the notebooks with the Intel core processors.
