HP Pavilion Plus 14 inch Laptop PC 14-ey0000 IDS Base Model

My HP Pavilion Plus laptop 14 - ey000 has a memory module failure, the computer intermittently freezes, re-starts by itself, blue error screen appears, re-starts again and boots normally into win 11 OS. UEFI Startup system test result indicated memory module failure. How do I fix this

According to chapter 1 of the service manual, the memory is an integral part of the motherboard and cannot be upgraded.

Maintenance and Service Guide

If your notebook is giving you a memory module failure error, the only way to fix it would be to replace the system board with one listed in chapter 3 of the service manual that matches the specifications your notebook has.

If your notebook is still under warranty, contact HP customer service starting at the link below and submit a support request to have the motherboard replaced under the warranty.

Thanks for the quick response. The motherboard was replaced recently under warranty. I will follow up with support.

Unfortunately I am out of luck. The unit had  faulty motherboard replaced under warranty in April . I contacted official support yesterday. I was told that the replacement motherboard  is covered under a 3 mo warranty plus my original unit warranty expired July 15, whereas the current problem started on Jul 19, 4 days after warranty expiration. Yesterday I contacted official support where it got stuck in the fact that I am out of warranty; no "good will offer" of replacing the faulty motherboard  was mentioned. I was in contact with 3 sections 1. Hardware who told me I could replace the memory module myself, then was transferred to warranty section, who conducted several tests and lastly transferred me to software support thinking it was a software problem. I am convinced it is a hardware problem.

So, instead of pouring more money in a potential lemon, I bought a new 14" notebook from a competitor. I always think of the good in people and corporations but in this instance the people were very helpful but ultimately the HP corporation let me down. Thanks for your interest and guidance.

Sorry that HP didn't budge a little on the warranty since they had recently replaced it, and IMHO, only a 3 month warranty on a new replacement motherboard doesn't seem to be much to me.

Hopefully, you will have better luck with the new notebook you just bought.
