Hello,
My Chromebook reset itself and the password that I put it wiped everything and I was just wondering if there was a way that I could get back to the way I had it. Thank you for your help!
Sincerelly,
Courtney Davis

Hi @Courtney212
Welcome to the HP support community.
I understand you're experiencing an issue with your HP device, and I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. I'm here to help you today.
There are a few things you can try to recover your previous settings and files:
1. Check Google Drive:
- If you were using Google Drive, check your Google Drive account for any files that may have been automatically saved there. Google Docs, Sheets, and other files created using Google apps typically save automatically.
2. Check for Local Backups:
- If you had previously backed up your Chromebook using the built-in backup feature, you can restore your files from there:
- Go to Settings > Advanced > Backup and see if you can restore from any available backups.
3. Re-sign Into Your Google Account:
- When you sign back into your Google account after the reset, your settings, bookmarks, and extensions should sync back automatically if you had sync enabled before the reset.
4. Extensions and Apps:
- If you had any Chrome extensions or apps, you can reinstall them from the Chrome Web Store. Just sign into your Google account and they should reappear if they were synced.
I hope this helps! Keep me posted.
