Hi @SteveDaMan,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Sorry for the inconvenience caused don’t worry let me help you.

To better understand the issue, could you please provide a few more details?

  • When did this problem first appear?
  • Did you recently change any BIOS settings or set a password?
  • Does the password prompt appear before Windows loads, or after?

Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:

  1. Confirm the Type of Password Prompt
    • If the message appears immediately at startup (before Windows begins loading), it is likely a BIOS/Setup password.
    • If it appears after Windows starts, it may be a Windows account password.
  2. Check for BIOS Password
    • On the Compaq Mini 110, a Current Password prompt at boot usually indicates a BIOS password has been set.
    • If you know the password, please enter it to proceed.
  3. Remove External Devices
    • Disconnect any USB drives, external keyboards, or accessories, then restart the PC to see if the prompt changes.

I hope this helps.
