My HP 15 series notebook doesn't boot up.

HP Notebook 15-bs106ne
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The model is 15-bs106ne. It doesn't boot up. It was working normally until a day back and now the charging LED light is on and when the power button is pressed, the power LED comes on for a few seconds and goes off. The fan doesn't turn on and no sounds of hard disk rotation either. The battery is removed and the notebook is plugged in with the adapter.

@Alan-_-

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

  • Did this happen after a recent window or software update?
  • Did you make any changes on the settings of your PC prior to the issue?

While you respond to that, let's try these steps:

Firstly, perform Hard Reset: Follow steps from the link: https://hp.care/2GnkMa8(if the computer doesn't start up/power on you can skip the next step)

Next step, BIOS default:

  1. Turn off the computer and wait five seconds.
  2. Press the Power button to start the computer and repeatedly press the F10 key to enter the BIOS setup menu.
  3. On the BIOS Setup screen, press F9 to select and load the BIOS Setup Default settings.
  4. Press F10 to Save and Exit.
  5. Use the arrow keys to select Yes, then press Enter when asked Exit Saving Changes?
  6. Follow the prompts to restart your computer. Once it's done uninstall the Touchpad device,
Note: If computer does not boot then computer needs to be serviced.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

My HP 15 series notebook doesn't boot up.

I update the system (windows and bios updates) whenever I receive an update but I don't think there was any update being done before this happened. I didn't make any changes to the system settings either.

I've had tried hard reset, bios reset using the latest bios update from HP but nothing works, nothing is being displayed on the screen, the system isn't starting up and all that could be seen is the two LED lights behaving same as before.

This sounds like hardware related issue with the computer as it's not starting up.

I would request you to reach out to our Support and our Support Engineers should be able to sort this out. HP Support can be reached by clicking on the following link: www.hp.com/contacthp/
