My HP 17-e117dx Laptop needs a BIOS update

Hi, I just found this laptop from a secondhand store, and I'm trying to update the BIOS as the computer can't seem to read my boot drive. The current BIOS version is F.22 from Insyde. Is there any way for me to update said BIOS to a point where it can read my Linux boot drive? I have Linux Mint on the drive and am willing to use a bare bones version if it means I can stop using Windows 8 on here. Thanks in advance

Thank you so much! I was able to update the BIOS successfully and install said update. I appreciate your help in this greatly and am now using my laptop to great effect, minus some weird problems with my Bluetooth but I plan to look at that later. Thank you and have a good one!
