Hi,

It could be a problem with the Hard Drive. First, try performing HP Hardware diagnostics at boot and see if there are any failure codes.

Turn off the PC by holding the power button. Turn on PC and repeatedly keep pressing ESC until the startup menu appears and then press F2 to enter diagnostics. Try the fast test, or at least the hard drive test.

See if there are any hardware errors.

Let me know,

David

Hi,

It means the hard drive has failed and needs to be replaced. You will then need to reinstall the OS on the new drive.

You should at this point consider upgrading to a 2.5" SATA3 SSD which would give a great boost to the performance of the PC.

Example:

https://www.amazon.in/Samsung-500GB-2-5-inch-Internal-MZ-76E500B/dp/B079FL9YQ6/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&k...

On page 44 of the service manual you can see the steps to replace the Hard Drive.

https://content.abt.com/documents/90195/15DA0046NR_manual.pdf

You will then need to reinstall the OS on the Drive which you can do by performing a clean install

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

using HP cloud recovery

https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c06162205

Hope it helps,

David
