HP Pavilion Laptop PC 15-eg0073cl
Microsoft Windows 11

I allowed my laptop to use power to the battery and then plugged it in.  The Laptop will not power on.  When I press the power button, I see the power light blink 3 times but will not come on.

@sarahman, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

When your HP Pavilion 15-eg0073cl laptop blinks the power light 3 times and won't turn on, it's usually a hardware-related diagnostic code.

Let's try these steps:

Hard Reset

Do this first—it can often resolve power-related boot issues:

Unplug the laptop.

Remove any peripherals (USB devices, SD cards, etc.).

If the battery is removable, take it out. (If not, just skip this.)

Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds.

Plug in the charger (leave the battery out if it's removable).

Try to power it on.

Also, I suggest you refer to this guide for further troubleshooting steps: HP Notebook PCs - Computer beeps or a light blinks during startup | HP® Support

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
