HP 15-f272wm
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I purchased this laptop (Model: HP 15-f272wm) like around back in 2015. There were ZERO problems with it. About a year later, my laptop would not turn on (it would boot up for about a few seconds and then IMMEDIATELY turn off). I tried removing the battery and charger and holding the power button for a certain amount of time, did not work AT ALL.

So around 2017, I tried again to see if it would work this time, SURPRISINGLY, it did. It only RARELY turned off by itself when it boots up. So from around 2017 to mid 2019, It worked alright, I guess. But around late 2019 and early 2020, it did the same thing in 2016, Not turning on at all. However, last night it worked somehow. I thought it turned off immediately because I had so many applications that slowed down the laptop, so I factory reset the laptop last night. It did make my laptop quite faster, but it did NOT solve my problem.

But the next morning (now), my laptop will not turn on at all. Sometimes even the display would not turn on while it's booting up within the few seconds it has before it turns off by itself. I can hear the fans running, but I'm not quite sure what is causing this laptop to always shut down itself.

If anyone here has a WORKING method they could provide to me, I would really appreciate it. Thank you all in advance.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:

Hard Reset: Follow steps from the link: https://hp.care/2GnkMa8. (do not skip any troubleshooting steps even if you feel steps are repeating)

BIOS default:

  1. Turn off the computer and wait five seconds.
  2. Press the Power button to start the computer and repeatedly press the F10 key to enter the BIOS setup menu.
  3. On the BIOS Setup screen, press F9 to select and load the BIOS Setup Default settings.
  4. Press F10 to Save and Exit.
  5. Use the arrow keys to select Yes, then press Enter when asked Exit Saving Changes?
  6. Follow the prompts to restart your computer.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

I have already tried hard resetting multiple times, and no success. Also, I am completely unable to access ANYTHING on my laptop, when I turn it on, it turns off after a few seconds, So I am unable to access BIOS.

UPDATE:

I connected my laptop to my HDTV see if the display would show, and surprisingly, it turns on but...

I did this by connecting my HP Laptop via HDMI to my tv, turned the power on my HP, and closed the lid, after a minute or two, my tv screen shows my laptop screen as an external monitor, and I use a spare USB mouse and keyboard to navigate. When I try to boot up bios, I can't see it on my tv screen. I can only see it on my laptop screen. And if I lift up open the laptop screen, the laptop immediately shuts off.

This sounds like hardware related issue with the HP computer. Hence, I would request you to contact our Support and our Support Engineers should be able to sort this out. HP Support can be reached by clicking on the following link: www.hp.com/contacthp/
