Hi  @IK441

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

I understand your concern to hear that about your EliteBook is not powering on, especially when you need it urgently today. I understand how this situation can be, don’t worry let me check and help you with this.

Could you kindly confirm the below details :

  1. Have there been any recent BIOS updates, Windows updates, drops, spills, or hardware changes?
  2. When you press the power button, do you hear any fan noise or see anything on the screen?
  3. Can you confirm whether the two amber/orange lights blink continuously or follow a specific pattern (for example, 2 blinks, pause, repeat)?

In the meantime, kindly try the below steps and confirm :

1: Perform a Hard Reset  - (Link for steps - click here )

  1. Disconnect the AC adapter.
  2. Disconnect all external devices (USB drives, dock, monitor, etc.).
  3. Press and hold the Power button for 20-30 seconds.
  4. Reconnect only the HP charger and try powering on the notebook.

 2: Check the Charging Indicator

  • Connect the charger directly to a wall outlet.
  • Observe whether any charging LED changes color or blinking behavior.
  • If available, try another compatible HP charger.

 3: Test with Minimum Connections

  • Remove all connected peripherals.
  • Undock the system if connected to a docking station.
  • Attempt to start the notebook using only the AC adapter.

The blinking LEDs may indicate a hardware diagnostic code related to the battery, power subsystem, memory, or another component. The exact blink pattern will help us narrow down the cause.

You may also refer to HP's official document on notebook computers that do not start or power on or if the Computer beeps or a light blinks during startup - click here

I hope this helps.
