My laptop won't turn on at all. It was given to me by my neighbors a few months ago so it's REALLY old. How old I couldn't tell ya. I was using it just a few days ago and shut it down properly but now I can't get it to turn on. The only lights that are on is the one that says it's charging and the one where the a/c charger plugs in. Everything else is off. I've tried removing the battery and turning it on that way but no dice and I've tried doing it with just the battery and got the same results. ANy ideas as to why it won't turn on?

Hello @SMK1992

Thank you for posting in the HP Support forum. Welcome onboard!

I am sorry for the issues you experience with your HP computer.

Please, review this HP official article about such issues you experience now >> http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01443371

Follow the appropriate steps that fit your case to attempt to fix the issue.

Possible reasons: failty charger, faulty battery, motherboard issue, etc...

If you did try everything but nothing helped, I am afraid you will need to bring your computer (or ship it) to service. However, such an old PC may not be cheap to repair and not all components may be available. If the PC cannot be repaired, consider buying a new one:

New PCs >> http://store.hp.com/

Second hand checked business refurbished PCs >> http://www.hp.com/sbso/buspurchase_refurbished.html

Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any follow up questions.
