HP Spectre x360 Convertible 13-ae0xx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My laptop keep showing blue screen which it states "Your PC ran into a problem", it then shows boot drive black screen. It happens frequently recently, now, it happens whenever my laptop goes to sleep. I contacted HP support about this matter, however, they just ask me to do component test, hard drive test, bios default and etc. They even ask me to carry out "Windows 10 reset through windows recovery environment" and "HP recovery tool". However, this does not help at all where the boot drives black screen happen more often than usual. Now, whenever the laptop is not in use and if it goes to sleep mode, boot drive black screen will appear, and I find it hard to turn on my laptop. May I know what I can do?

HOW DO I USE DIAGNOSTICS?

HP PC Hardware Diagnostics Windows is a Windows-based utility that allows you to run diagnostic tests to determine if the computer hardware is functioning properly. The tool runs within the Windows operating system in order to diagnose hardware failures. HP PC Hardware Diagnostics Windows comes pre-installed on new HP computers, but if not on yours, download here:-

You may have a failing hard drive.

DISABLE FAST STARTUP if you can.

If in doubt please ask.

Hello,

Thank you for your advice! I really appreciate that.

I also suspect there might be a failing hard drive and I did the component test (Quick test) for hard drive through HP PC Hardware Diagnostics Windows, however, the result showed PASS for my hard drive. The boot drive black screen appear quite often now. Once the laptop goes into sleep mode, it will turn out "Your PC ran into a problem" and auto restart, then boot drive.

Do you have any idea on how I can solve this issue for my laptop?

Thank You.
