Victus by HP Gaming Laptop 15-fa0000 (680A2AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

my victus laptop doesn't turn on. It only shows a black screen with my power button LED on and that of the caps lock blinking 5 times ( out of which the first 3 blink slowly and the last two blink at a faster speed). I do not know how to get it fixed. Help me out. Thank you.

Hi @brolin ,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The blinking LED pattern on your HP Victus laptop is an indicator of a hardware issue. In this case, the 5-blink pattern usually points to a system board or motherboard failure.

Here are  steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:

Check the Power Supply:

  • Ensure that your laptop is receiving power from the AC adapter.
  • Make sure the power outlet is functioning properly.

Perform a Hard Reset:

  • Turn off the laptop.
  • Disconnect the AC adapter and remove the laptop battery.
  • Hold down the power button for about 15 seconds.
  • Reconnect the battery and AC adapter, then try turning the laptop on.

Test with External Display:

  • Connect your laptop to an external monitor using the appropriate cable.
  • If the external display shows the same issue, it's likely a hardware problem.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.-
