Hi @Enangangema,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble accessing your HP Pavilion dv6 laptop. I can provide some general guidance, but please note that I can't assist with passwords or bypassing security measures due to privacy and security protocols. Here are some steps you can take:

Power Cycle: Start by power cycling your laptop. Turn it off completely, remove the battery (if possible), and unplug the power adapter. Press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds to discharge any remaining power, then reconnect the battery and power adapter.

Try Safe Mode: Attempt to boot your laptop in Safe Mode. Restart your computer and press F8 repeatedly as it boots up. If you can access Safe Mode, you may be able to troubleshoot further or remove the password if you can remember it from here.

Password Reset Disk: If you created a password reset disk previously, use it to reset your password.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
