Hi @Noodlesfromkhad,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be happy to help you!
I understand that you are having issues with your PC not powering on.
If your HP ENVY - 13-Aq1013dx laptop isn't turning on despite the charging light indicating it's fully charged, you can try a few additional steps to troubleshoot the issue. Here are some detailed steps you can follow:
1. Perform a Hard Reset
A hard reset can sometimes resolve power issues by draining residual power from the device.
- Disconnect all external devices: Unplug any external devices connected to the laptop, such as USB drives, external hard drives, or peripherals.
- Disconnect the power adapter: Unplug the power adapter from the laptop.
- Remove the battery (if possible): If your model has a removable battery, remove it. If not, you can skip this step.
- Press and hold the power button: Press and hold the power button for at least 15 seconds to drain any residual power.
- Reconnect the power adapter: Plug the power adapter back in (and reinsert the battery if you removed it).
- Try to power on: Press the power button and see if the laptop turns on.
2. Check for a Display Issue
It's possible that the laptop is on, but the display isn't working. Here are some steps to check for this:
- Connect to an external monitor: Use an HDMI cable or other compatible connection to connect your laptop to an external monitor or TV.
- Switch display modes: Press the "Windows key + P" and try toggling through the display modes (Duplicate, Extend, Second screen only) to see if the external monitor shows any display.
- Check for backlight: Look closely at the laptop screen in a well-lit area to see if there is any faint image. Sometimes the backlight might be malfunctioning, but the screen might still be displaying content faintly.
3. Perform a BIOS Reset
Resetting the BIOS can sometimes resolve startup issues.
- Disconnect the power adapter: Unplug the power adapter from the laptop.
- Press and hold the power button: Hold the power button for about 60 seconds.
- Reconnect the power adapter: Plug the power adapter back in.
- Try to power on: Press the power button and see if the laptop turns on.
4. Inspect for Hardware Issues
There could be an underlying hardware issue causing the problem.
- Listen for any sounds: When you press the power button, listen for any sounds like fan noise or beeps. If you hear beeps, it could indicate a hardware issue.
- Check the power adapter and charging port: Ensure the power adapter and charging port are functioning correctly. Try using a different compatible power adapter if possible.
If none of the above steps work, it's likely there is a hardware failure that needs professional attention.
- HP Support: Visit the HP Support website and search for your model (HP ENVY - 13-Aq1013dx) to get contact details for technical support.
- Service Center: If your laptop is under warranty, you can take it to an authorized HP service center for further diagnosis and repair.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
